Mindfulness-Based Art Processing
Mindfulness-based art processing (MBAP)
combines the concepts and practices of mindfulness, positive psychology, and
art creation and processing in an attempt to enhance the benefits of each. Dr. Wilson developed MBAP to accelerate the trainings of mindfulness and positive psychology and deepen the psychological benefits both modalities by using art and creativity to provide new outlets for expression and insight. MBAP workshops are both educational and experiential; participants learn the information and then get a chance to practice and integrate this information into their lives to create lasting changes. MBAP has been successfully implemented and evaluated in workplace settings. Additionally, this research has revealed that MBAP can significantly increase one's happiness and sense of well-being, reduce perceived stress, improve sleep quality, and increase work motivation and job engagement.
